CBD is a popular choice for athletic performance, for athletic performance. However, much like the essential oils industry, the CBD market mostly driven by companies that are using synthetics, dilutions, contaminants, and adulterations to increase their profit margin. Very few are testing their products for quality and purity or ensuring any kind of product performance. There are quality CBD companies out there, but they are rare, so do a little homework and ask for testing reports to ensure the CBD you are using is stringently tested for quality and purity to ensure that it is safe.
If you want an alternative to CBD that has been tested and is less expensive, doTERRA's Copaiba essential oil is an excellent option. The video below will introduce you to the similarities and differences among Copaiba and CBD. However there are a few worth noting here:
Copaiba is an essential oil that comes from the bark of the Copaiba tree. CBD is coming from the cannabis plant. As such, they have different chemistries and subsequently, different benefits.
Copaiba and CBD act on the receptors in our endocannabinoid system differently, which is why they tend to work synergistically together. However, in my opinion, Copaiba brings about more pronounced and varied therapeutic benefits. (Contact me if you would like to see research about why I hold this view)
