Whether or not we like to hear it, exercise is an important aspect of personal wellness. It so happens that during this time of year, people tend to kick off all kinds of healthy changes: cleaner eating, increased physical activity, and better sleeping habits, just to name a few. What do they all really come down to? Discipline. Let dōTERRA spur you on in your endeavors to become more disciplined in 2020.

To get started, energize your workout routine by deeply inhaling Peppermint or Wild Orange (or both) right before you begin pumping weights or pounding the treadmill. Better yet, diffuse them during your workout, if you can. Peppermint in particular delivers a powerful burst of energy, making it a top oil for exercise motivation.

Did you know that many athletes and personal trainers depend on dōTERRA to energize and soothe? You’ll be in good company with the pros as you apply essential oils to the essential area of physical fitness. Whether you’re a newbie or a regular at your fitness establishment, become a workout wonder with the following homemade cleaning concoction.

To prepare this Gym Sanitizing Spray you’ll need:

10 drops Grapefruit essential oil

8 drops Tea Tree essential oil

5 drops Lemon essential oil

1 ounce distilled water

Combine all ingredients in small spray bottle (preferably glass, but for use at the gym, PET plastic may be more practical). Shake, spray, and wipe away! Use this mixture on all sorts of equipment, such as hand weights, yoga mats, and anything else your body may come into contact with that needs a spritz of sanitation.

Next, check out a quick and easy Shoe Deodorizer recipe for which your feet will thank you: add a few drops of Peppermint, Lemon, or any dōTERRA citrus oil to a paper towel and place in your gym shoes overnight. You’ve just created your own easy and effective odor...Read More

What is dilution?

What is dilution?

Dilution is simply adding a carrier oil to your essential oils.

What should I dilute with?

While some essential oils are ok to be used neat (i.e., applying the oil undiluted), it’s generally a good idea to dilute your essential oils with a carrier oil. A carrier oil is any kind of nut or vegetable oil that you add to your essential oils before applying them onto your skin. A carrier oil helps to “carry” the essential oil into the body. Common carrier oils include coconut, almond, jojoba, grapeseed, or olive oil. Each of these have different characteristics, but the most shelf-stable carrier oil is coconut oil. Shelf stability is important because you don’t want your carrier oil going rancid with your beautiful dōTERRA essential oils inside of it! While you can use the coconut oil that you probably have in your pantry, if you want to make rollers that stay in liquid form for easy application, you’ll want to grab Fractionated Coconut Oil. Fractionated simply means that the fatty acids from the triglycerides are separated off so that the oil retains the liquid state.

Fractionated Coconut Oil has a lot of great benefits in and of itself, but in terms of diluting your oils, it’s excellent because it has an indefinite shelf life, it’s odorless and colorless, it absorbs quickly, it’s not greasy so it doesn’t clog your pores, it’s great for your skin, and it doesn’t stain clothing (and all the Moms said, Hallelujah!).

I recommend using the Fractionated Coconut Oil from dōTERRA because I have found it to be the best in terms of being absorbed by the skin and not leaving that annoying “greasy” feeling. Plus, it’s easy to add to your order so you never run out!

<p style="font-size:...Read More
